Daimien McConnell Director

Daimien started his training with a small firm of chartered accountants in Wiltshire dealing with a wide variety of small and medium sized businesses. He continued his training at a similar size firm in Cirencester and was promoted to senior accountant. During his training he benefited from a small firm environment by gaining experience in all aspects of accountancy and taxation.

After passing his professional examinations in 1994 Daimien was promoted to manager and became responsible for dealing with his own client portfolio and also heading up the audit department within the firm.

Looking for a new challenge, Daimien joined William Hinton in 1996 as a manager assisting with the development of the expanding practice. He became a partner in the practice in December 2001 and his current portfolio of clients includes several London based businesses, which sees him traveling to the Capital on a regular basis.

Ian qualified as an accountant in a well respected three partner firm based in London. Whilst training Ian gained a wealth of experience dealing with both small and medium sized businesses, gaining a valuable insight into how owner managed businesses operate. Working in a small firm Ian developed a good foundation in all areas of accountancy and taxation.

Ian qualified as an accountant in 2004 before moving to Cheltenham and shortly after joined the team at William Hinton Limited. Ian manages a broad range of clients, overseeing accounts preparation, planning audits, and preparing management accounts. Ian enjoys meeting with clients on a regular basis to discuss their business requirements, growth strategies and individual goals. Ian is keen to develop long lasting relationships with all clients and to provide a valued service.

Ian has a young family, and understands the importance of achieving the right balance between family and work. To relax, Ian enjoys socialising and supporting Gloucester rugby.


Gordon Woodman profile image

Gordon Woodman Personal Tax Manager

Experience & specialisms

Gordon was born in Cheltenham and has lived in the locality ever since. After a brief spell working for the DHSS (now DSS), Gordon joined a medium sized accountancy firm in 1978. Initially based in the accounts preparation department, he gained valuable experience of small businesses needs and aspirations across a wide variety of trades and professions.

Gordon passed his Institute of Taxation examinations in 1992 and was promoted to Tax Manager dealing with all aspects of taxation for sole traders, partnerships, trusts, companies, non-residents and individuals with private income.

After 23 years with the same firm, Gordon joined William Hinton in 2001 as the Personal Tax Manager where his skills are ideally suited to dealing with small businesses and local people.


Mark Godfrey profile image

Mark Godfrey Client Manager & Office Manager

Mark gained his early experience training with a small accountancy practice in Chipping Campden whilst studying for his professional qualification. He has been with William Hinton since 1994 and initially specialised in company audits for the practice. Mark has a broad base of experience from small firm environments in which he has worked and is now the office manager in the practice with his own portfolio of clients including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.

In his spare time he has a passion for natural history. Mark enjoys country walks and likes to take in the occasional Cotswold pub on route!


Gordon Dykes profile image

Gordon Dykes Client Manager

Experience & specialisms

Gordon studied at the University of Gloucestershire and gained a degree in Accounting and Financial Management with Business Information Technology.

Gordon joined William Hinton in 2009 as trainee accountant, having previously worked for another firm in Cheltenham. He qualified as a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 2013.

His responsibilities include the preparation of accounts and maintaining his own client portfolio.


Naomi Rowlands profile image

Experience & specialisms

Naomi joined William Hinton in November 1998 taking on the role of Office Junior. Shortly after joining Naomi showed an interest in other areas of the firm and through the support and training provided by the firm has been able to progress.

Naomi is responsible for the Practice accounts and preparing monthly management accounts for several clients taking into account the accounting software best suited to their individual needs.


Amelia Storer profile image

Amelia Storer Payroll Manager & Money Laundering Officer

Qualifications:

  • BA (Hons) Fine Art
  • BHSAI

Experience & specialisms

Amelia has recently joined us full time after working temporarily for the company and spending some years working as a riding instructor before moving to the Cotswolds.

Amelia specialises in Payroll and Money Laundering Reporting. Her duties include preparation and processing client monthly/weekly payrolls, PAYE payments and pension auto enrolment. Amelia also regularly reviews and updates compliance software for Money Laundering.

Out of the office Amelia enjoys all country pursuits and is a keen horsewoman, who owns and regularly competes with her horse.


Yasmin Sheehan profile image

Yasmin Sheehan Barrister Intermediary

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law and Practice (CILEx)

Yasmin is the internal Barrister Intermediary; she comes from a background in legal & client services and project management.

Yasmin is a fully accredited member of the Legal Services Guild meaning direct access to Barristers, Solicitors and other legal professionals who can assist William Hinton’s clients with a vast array of matters from wills and Powers of Attorneys to complex criminal cases.

In her spare time she enjoys socialising with family and friends.


Stephanie Tilling profile image

Stephanie Tilling Secretary / receptionist

Stephanie has been working here since 2015 and enjoys the diversity of responsibilities.

She was born in Kingham, grew up in Witney but then in 1991 moved back to the Cotswolds. She trained at Witney college to be a dental nurse and had 17 very happy years working for a practice here in Stow on the Wold until the dentist retired. Alongside this she trained and qualified as a firefighter and was stationed at Stow where she served 7 years for the community.

What attracted her to William Hinton Accountants was the friendly family atmosphere of the practice and getting to see many familiar faces from the community as well as meeting lots of new people.

Her passion is family, friends and music and enjoys walking reading and socialising with friends.


Clive Richards profile image

Clive Richards Accounts Senior

Clive has recently joined the company after spending many years working for accountancy practices and private companies and brings a wealth of experience with him.

Clive specialises in Account production, preparation of VAT returns and general book keeping services.

Out of the office he considers himself to be a bit of a chef and often brings in goodies for us to taste. He has two grown up children, is a passionate supporter of Southampton football club and was lucky enough to be selected as a Gamesmaker at the 2012 Paralympic games based at the Olympic stadium.
